Feeling a lack of trans representation at Pride Month events? You’re not alone in feeling like sometimes the T in LGBTQ+ gets ignored, but that's why people across the country are coming together to organize, protest, and celebrate the trans community. Whether you’re trans yourself or any ally looking to show up in solidarity, there is a Trans Pride event for you.
Trans women of color fought back at Stonewall and have continued to be instrumental in leading the charge to demand LGBTQ+ civil rights, so take some time this month to celebrate a community of people who continue to fight despite being marginalized by the rest of society. And if you are trans, nonbinary, or gender diverse yourself, Pride Month is the perfect time to check out a local Trans Pride event so you can party, fight back against systemic injustices, and find community with other trans people.
So, this year, when you’re planning your Pride Month calendar, don’t forget to celebrate Trans Pride too.
